Rainbows!

Today I decided to use the Rainbow of Happiness Stamp Set and coordinating Brilliant Rainbow Dies to make this cute card!  When I first started, this card wasn’t the direction I was going in, but I do like the end result.

I love the versatility of this set!  Rainbows can be used for many different types of cards, such as birthday, hello, St. Patrick’s Day, and pet sympathy cards to name a few.  Use traditional colors, or feel free to experiment with shades of just one color, or even your favorite colors!  It doesn’t always have to be the primary colors.  You are only limited by your imagination!

This set is retiring soon, so if you want it, be sure to pick it up by June 30.  Right now the dies are 50% off.  Stampin’ Up! does sell a bundle set, but it’s cheaper to buy the sets separately.  Links will be below in the materials list.

How to Make This Card:

1.  Start with an A2 size card base (4.25″ x 5.5″) in any color you like.  I used a dark blue from my stash but I really love the Tahitian Tide paper available now.

2.  Cut alternating colors in 3″ x 1″ strips and tape/glue onto the left side of the card.  I used the glimmer paper which I love, but you can use any colors you like.

3.  Cut a 1.5″ x 5.25″ strip of white paper.  Use decorative scissors to trim one end.  Glue/tape to the right side of the card, leaving a bit of the base showing.

4.  Cut a 5″ strip of your base color (dark blue for my card), trim one end with decorative scissors, and glue/tape on top of your white paper, leaving a little border visible.

5.  Cut 2 rainbows from white paper.  Attach a piece of glimmer paper to the back of one rainbow.   Glue or tape the edges together.    Repeat using a different color of glimmer paper.  Cut around the rainbow with a decorative scissors, leaving the bottom edge straight.

6.  Attach to your card using glue or tape.  Cut a 2.25″ x 1.75″ piece of coordinating glitter paper.  Attach to your card using glue or tape.

7.  Cut a 2″ x 1.50″ piece of white paper.  Stamp your saying on it.  Center and glue to the small glitter paper piece you just attached.

8.  From white paper, cut a 3.75″ x 5″ piece to glue or tape on the inside of your card.

You’re done!  Feel free to make this exact card, and vary from it.  Instead of using decorative scissors, you can use dies available in different sets to embellish your edges.
