Cardmaking can be as easy or as complex as you’d like to make it. Today I want to show you easy. This will show you how you can start making your cards with decorative paper. You can choose to make them one at a time, or grab a bunch of paper and card bases, and make a lot of them.
Pictured above are 2 card bases, onto which I’ve attached 2 pieces of decorative paper. That’s it! The paper comes in 4″ x 6″ sheets, so I just trimmed the long edge to 5″ and taped it to the card base. You could also cut the paper in half, and have two 3″ sections, which would cover less of the front of the card base, but make two cards. Here’s an example:
You can then coordinate your stamps and inks to match the color theme of the paper. In the first picture, I picture the card on the left to be a Happy Birthday card, and the card on the right would really work with any saying, but seems very summer-ish to me. The card in the second picture would be suitable for a child’s birthday or celebration, with the fun pink colors.
The decorative paper I used is called Abstract Beauty 4″ x 6″ Specialty Designer Series Paper. It is 2-sided, and comes in 24 different designs. Currently it is 50% off in the Last Chance Sale and will be retiring June 30. These papers make it so easy for you to pull a card together in no time. Take a look:
I’ll post the finished cards soon, so you can see the final result.
Happy Stamping!
Jen
