Split Stamping Technique

Here’s a fun technique for you to try out next time you are in your crafting space! I really like how this card turned out, and you can use whatever supplies you have available to you.

I chose to use berry burst as my base color, as it’s such a fun color to use in the summer. I stamped an image from the Lovely & Lasting Stamp set (retired) on white cardstock, and cut it into 4 pieces. I used Tear n Tape (you can use any kind of adhesive!) to fasten those pieces to another small piece of berry burst cardstock, then attached it to the card base using dimensionals. It pops up the image nicely!

You could also choose to cut your image into 6 pieces. When you’re cutting your pieces, either into 4 squares or 6 squares, try to have them be of the same size. You want them to form a nice square on your card. For this card I used blueberry bushel ink and boho blue cardstock.

Experiment with different colors and see which combinations you like the best. I recommend using a larger stamp; my stamped image measures 3.25″ x 3.25″. You could also have multiple smaller stamps (such as flowers) on your white cardstock if you don’t have any larger stamps available to you.

Let me know if you try it and what color combinations you like best!

Happy Stamping!
