3 Cards Using Paper Pieces

In an earlier post, I shared my top 5 tips to turn your paper scraps into cards. This is my final post in sharing some cards that I’ve made with those scraps.

Starting with a Daffodil Delight card base, I embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock on the right side with the Stripes and Splatters embossing folder. It is now retired, but you can score lines onto your cardstock for a similar effect. On the left side I placed the DSP, and used dimensionals to adhere it to the cardstock. The greeting on the front is simply a small scrap of Crushed Curry cardstock, but you can use any color that either matches the card base or DSP. Or doesn’t match at all! Complementary colors can look really striking.

I started with a Sweet Sorbet card base, and tore a strip off each side of a Garden Green piece of cardstock to create the ripped edges you see here. The DSP measures 3″ x 3 3/4″ so it’s really a great design if you’re looking to use up smaller pieces. I used a piece of 1/4″ black and white gingham ribbon which is now retired, but Stampin’ Up! carries 3/8″ black and very vanilla checked ribbon which you could use instead.

I used the Timeworn Type3D embossing folder directly on the DSP to add texture to the card. The card was simple to put together, using a piece of ribbon and a punched shape for the sentiment. You can make several at once in different colors, and always have a card ready for when you need it!

This week, find some small pieces of DSP and make a couple of cards to share!

Happy Creating!

Jen
