Hello friends! Yesterday I was experimenting with different ways I could use up my 6 x 6 decorative papers, and I came across this way, which I will refer to as angle design. It’s not a new method, and it’s not difficult, but I found it to be a very efficient way to use up a sheet of 6 x 6 paper, and I wanted to share it with you. 🙂
Don’t have any 6 x 6 papers? Take a sheet of 12 x 12 paper and cut at the 6” mark until you have 4 separate sheets — this will give you 4 sheets of 6 x 6 paper!
Supplies needed:
- 6 x 6 decorative paper
- Card stock mat: 4” x 5 1/4”
- Card base: 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”
- Adhesive
- Stamps and die cuts to decorate the front
How to Make It:
1. Cut your decorative paper at 3.5”, so that your paper measures 3.5” x 6”. Set aside the 2.5” strip to use on your envelope flap.
2. Attach your favorite adhesive to the back of your 3.5” x 6” strip.
3. Angle your decorative paper over your card mat, and adhere. Trim the excess edges or you can fold and adhere to the back of the card mat.

I like to fold the excess edges and secure to the back. It adds a little dimension to the card, and it saves my scissors from being coated in adhesive.
4. Attach/stamp any sentiments and die cuts to the front that you wish!

For this card ”Happy Easter” was stamped directly onto the white card mat in the top right corner.
I stamped the bunny onto white card stock and cut out with a 2.75” circle die. I used fresh freesia card stock from Stampin’ Up for my card base, so I cut out a 3.25” circle in this same color and attached the white bunny circle to it. On the back of the larger circle I affixed dimensionals to pop it up and placed on my card.
I also added three Easter eggs to the bottom right: these were stamped onto white card stock and colored with alcohol markers and cut out with scissors.
5. Attach your 2.5” strip of decorative paper to your envelope flap. Done!

I recommend using the double sided adhesive tape or a super strong tape runner, to ensure it doesn’t fall off or jam up the postal machines in the mailing process.
Let me know if you make a similar card- I’d love to see it! 🩷
Happy Creating!
Jen
