Hello friends! Are you familiar with two tone paper from Stampin’ Up!? Typically, their cardstock is dyed throughout, including the core, so that when you cut it, you do not see any traces of white, just one color throughout.
Two tone cardstock features two shades of color in one sheet: one side is lighter, and the other side is darker. It comes in the same colors as the regular cardstock, in 12 x 12 sheets. The versatile feature is that two tone cardstock has a white core, which allows you to create with different techniques, such as tearing, sanding, crumpling, and embossing.
I want to show you a card today that uses the tearing technique. I used an old olive card base, with curved strips of Florals in Bloom DSP, and Fresh Freesia and Blackberry Bliss two tone cardstock for the middle section.

I used three different techniques with this card: the DSP was cut using a rotary perforation tip, the happy birthday ribbon was dyed with fresh freesia ink instead of cutting it from cardstock, and tearing the two tone cardstock. Today I’ll focus on the tearing technique; it’s simple to do!
Take the piece of paper you wish to tear, hold it steady in your right hand, and then starting at the top, with your left hand, tear it down slowly, a little bit at a time. You’re going for a ragged edge, so don’t worry if it doesn’t align perfectly. I also use this method with regular cardstock, but I like the look better with the white core showing.
The middle vertical piece is the darker color of the fresh freesia, the piece on top is the lighter shade of fresh freesia, and the small, horizontal strip going across is the darker shade of blackberry bliss.
Today through Friday (July 9-11) Stampin’ Up! is offering 20% off all two tone cardstock if you’d like to give it a try. Click here to see the colors available (while supplies last)

It is also available in multipacks, but it is easier to find them if you go the link above, and type in the search bar the correct product code. For your convenience, I’ve listed the product codes below and the colors available in that multipack. Each pack contains 2 sheets of each of the 6 colors.
