Create Easy Birthday Cards : Design 1

Hi friends! This week I’m going to be showing you easy card designs that you can use to make beautiful cards using the supplies you have! I hope this inspires you to make some cards and send out some birthday love 🩷 You can also use these cards for different occasions, such as anniversary, get well, thinking of you, etc; just change the greeting!

SUPPLIES NEEDED

  • A2 Card base that measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2*
  • 1/2″ x 5″ piece of same color cardstock as your card base
  • white cardstock for your greeting
  • white cardstock that measures 4″ x 5 1/4″ for inside of card
  • 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP for front of card
  • 3/4″ x 4″ same pattern DSP for inside of card

*for card base:  cut your cardstock 8.5″ x 5.5″; score at 4 1/4″

FRONT OF CARD

  1. Take your strip of 1/2″ x 5″ piece of cardstock and place it across the middle of your 4″ x 5 1/4″ DSP.
  2. Fold the ends underneath and adhere to the back of the DSP piece.  This acts as a faux ribbon!  If you have a ribbon that matches your cardstock, you can use that instead of the cardstock.
  3. Attach your 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of DSP to the front of your card with your choice of adhesive.
  4. For the greeting I die cut a shape.  If you don’t have a die cutting machine, use a punch or your trimmer to create a shape.  It can be any shape you like!
  5. Stamp “Happy Birthday” on your die cut/punched shape.  Attach to the center of your card with dimensionals.

INSIDE OF CARD

  1. Stamp your inside greeting.
  2. Attach strip of DSP to the bottom of your white cardstock.
  3. Attach your white cardstock to your card base.

Note:  You always want to stamp before you glue down, to minimize waste.  You can easily replace the white cardstock if your stamping isn’t how you want it, but it’s more frustrating to have to start over, because I’ve discovered the hard way there’s usually no rescuing the card once it’s fastened down.
