Creative Card Design with Two-Tone Paper

Hello friends! Today I want to show you a card I made in my studio today. It’s a fun little card that came together nicely, and I dug out some older dies to finish it off. Let’s take a look!

For this card I used two tone paper in strawberry slush, Florals in Bloom DSP, cloud cover cardstock for the card base, a small piece of petal pink cardstock for the greeting on front, and basic white cardstock for the inside. I have to say I am loving the color of cloud cover; it seems to go with a lot of different color combinations.

I embossed the two tone cardstock, and you’ll see some faint parts of the white core showing through. If you look close enough on the right side, you may notice a small tear in the paper. Note to self: Remember to lightly mist the two tone cardstock prior to embossing!

I decided to lightly sand it a little more, to brighten up the white areas, and this is the result:

You can definitely see the torn area in this picture, but it’s ok because it will be covered up by the DSP:

I felt the edge was a little basic, so I decided to dig out some border dies and make it pretty! You can never go wrong with border dies; it really gives your cards that extra dimension. Here’s a side view of the finished card so you can see the edge:

On the inside I placed a 1″ strip of DSP, just so the border would stand out against the card base.

Here’s the finished card.

Experiment with your supplies and see what you can come up with!

Stay Creative!
