Fun Fold Card Series

Hello friends! One of my absolute favorite card types to make are fun folds! They are a little more time intensive, but it’s almost similar to putting a puzzle together, and I like that aspect of it. If you’re unfamiliar with what a fun fold card is, let me explain. It’s a card that has varying folds and pop up elements that draw in the recipient to its unique charm. It’s not a typical flat card. Here’s an example of a fun fold card I made last year:

Although the fun fold cards do fit in an A2 size envelope, there is usually a little bulk to it, given the dimensional aspects. For this reason, I tend to gravitate towards the fun folds which are most suitable for mailing (ie, no additional postage needed). It also means I use minimal embellishments, as I have made cards in the past that I couldn’t easily mail.

I’ve decided to go through my stash of fun fold ideas, and list my favorites here on the website. You’ll see a new tab entitled Fun Folds that serves this purpose. Every week I’ll post a different fun fold, and give my thoughts on it, as well as how to make it. Most fun folds are not difficult to make and I hope you enjoy creating them as much as I do!

The appeal of fun folds is not necessarily in the construction of the card- the measurements I list you can readily find with a Google search. The charm lies in how you make this card your own, with your supplies and your ideas! For this reason, I am not going to go into detail about what supplies I use. If you’re curious, drop a comment and I’ll gladly share. Feel free to experiment and go beyond my examples.

Any questions, let me know!
