DIY Christmas Cards: Embrace the Christmas in July Tradition

—

, ,

Have you considered making your Christmas cards early? Christmas in July is a fun tradition that goes back to the 1930’s, and what better way to celebrate than to make Christmas cards! It can ease some of the pressure off an already busy season in November/December by having some of your Christmas cards made. I decided to feature seven cards that I based off card sketches I’ve pulled off Pinterest.

If you’re not familiar with what a card sketch is, it’s a drawing of a card front with suggestions on where to place your card elements, such as decorative papers, greetings and embellishments. It may or may not come with measurements. Feel free to follow it exactly as shown, or change it! It’s meant to be a starting point for your card, not a definite set of rules.

You can find a PDF on each of the cards I created, complete with pictures of the front, inside, and corresponding card sketch I used. I also include a supplies list and notes/tips about each card. You can download the PDF for free by clicking the Create tab in the top menu or clicking the button below. Even if you’re not into making Christmas cards right now, you can use the card sketches to make any type of card you want.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope this encourages you to make a card today!
